Customer support specialist requirements, with the quote you would need
Support postings ask for a channel, a tool, and composure. Volume and CSAT numbers are frequently invented. If you do not have the figure, describe the queue you actually worked.
Examples on this page are fictional composites, not customers and not testimonials.
Often required
Channel
Phone, email, chat, or in person. Do not add a channel you did not staff.
The product or industry
Retail, software, insurance. Stay inside the resume.
A problem type you handled
Billing, access, shipping, or how-to. One real category is better than “all inquiries.”
A tool, if named
A help desk by name. “Ticketing system” does not become Zendesk.
Writing or a process you improved
A macro, a help article, or a handover note, if you wrote it.
Often preferred, and easy to fake
- A language
- QA of other agents’ replies
- A published article or macro
What a citation looks like
Email support
“Answered billing emails for a consumer app and kept the shared inbox under a one-day reply target.”
Channel, topic, and a target that is written down. It is not a CSAT score.
Zendesk
“No sentence.”
A shared inbox is not Zendesk. Leave the tool unsupported.
The gap people paper over
CSAT, NPS, and handle time are the numbers people add. If they are not in the resume, they are not in the letter.
Questions
I was a cashier who also answered questions. Does that count?
Quote that work as it was. It may partially overlap. It is not a dedicated support role unless that was the job.
Should I claim “omnichannel”?
Only if more than one channel is actually listed.
