Sales development representative requirements, with the quote you would need
SDR roles are measured. That makes fabrication tempting. Quote activity you recorded: calls, a sequence, a meeting handed to an account executive. Do not borrow someone else’s quota.
Examples on this page are fictional composites, not customers and not testimonials.
Often required
Who you contacted
Title and industry, from your resume, not from the target company’s ICP slide.
The motion
Inbound, outbound, or both, as you did it.
A tool you logged in
A CRM or a dialer by name, or neither.
What you handed off
A meeting, a qualified lead, or a demo. Define it the way your team did, if the resume says.
A result only if written
Meetings per week or a quota attainment figure must already exist.
Often preferred, and easy to fake
- A sequence you wrote
- A vertical you know
- Coaching you received or gave
What a citation looks like
Outbound prospecting
“Booked first meetings with operations managers at regional logistics firms and logged them in HubSpot.”
Audience, motion, and tool are in one sentence. Quota percentage is not, so it stays out.
Salesforce
“No sentence.”
HubSpot is not Salesforce. The row is unsupported.
The gap people paper over
“President’s Club” and exact attainment percentages are the usual inventions. Leave them out if you cannot point at the resume.
Questions
Can retail sales transfer?
Quote the selling you did. Cold outbound to executives is a different task and may be a gap.
Should the letter sound hungry?
Tone is optional. Facts are not. A calmer letter that only claims real meetings is safer than a loud one with a fake metric.
