Product manager requirements, with the quote you would need
Product postings want discovery, a shipped change, and a measure. Titles vary. “Owned the roadmap” with no decision is a soft claim. Quote the problem, the choice, and who was affected.
Examples on this page are fictional composites, not customers and not testimonials.
Often required
A problem framed from users or data
Interviews, tickets, or a metric. Name the source that is already in the resume.
A scope decision
What you cut or sequenced. That is the job, more than a tool logo.
Engineers or designers you worked with
The quote should show the working relationship, not the word “stakeholder” pasted from the ad.
Something that shipped
A feature, a policy, or a killed idea. Unshipped strategy is weaker and should be labeled that way.
An outcome, if you have one
Use the number already written. Do not round it up or borrow a benchmark.
Often preferred, and easy to fake
- A SQL or analytics habit
- Experiment design
- A pricing or packaging change
What a citation looks like
Discovery
“Sat with five support agents and cut the refund form from twelve fields to six.”
The sample size and the change are both in the sentence. It supports discovery and a shipped edit. It does not support a revenue number.
SQL
“No sentence.”
Asking an analyst for a chart is not SQL unless you wrote the query and said so.
The gap people paper over
Roadmap tools (Jira, Productboard, Aha) are often listed and rarely evidenced. Cite them only if you used them for a decision you describe.
Questions
I was a project manager. Can I retitle it product?
No. Keep the title you held. You can quote the decisions that overlap, and leave the rest as gaps.
What if outcomes were confidential?
Describe the kind of change without a fake number. A missing metric is more honest than an estimated one.
