Operations manager requirements, with the quote you would need
Operations roles sit between a daily process and the people who run it. Management is a specific claim. Training someone is not the same as hiring or performance reviews.
Examples on this page are fictional composites, not customers and not testimonials.
Often required
The operation
Warehouse, support, clinic, store, or a back office. Name yours.
A process you changed or kept
A checklist, a schedule, a SLA, from your bullets.
People, described accurately
Scheduled, trained, or managed. Do not upgrade the verb.
A measure already on the page
Hours, error rate, or cycle time. No new numbers.
A cross-team partner
Finance, vendors, or another site, if written.
Often preferred, and easy to fake
- A tool used to run the process
- A hiring role you actually had
- A cost or overtime change
What a citation looks like
Scheduling
“Scheduled warehouse shifts for a 12-person crew and tracked overtime in spreadsheets.”
Crew size and the task are quoted. People management, in the sense of hiring and reviews, is still a gap if those words are absent.
Lean or Six Sigma
“No sentence.”
A smoother checklist is not a certified program. Leave the methodology unsupported.
The gap people paper over
Lean, Six Sigma belts, and headcount you “built” are common additions. Keep the verb you earned.
Questions
I supervised without the title.
Quote the supervision you did. Do not retitle the job. The reader can see the tasks.
Does a KPI dashboard I only read count?
You can say you used the report. You cannot say you built it.
